ENVIRONMENT: LUMA RESTAURANT
Location: Bali, Indonesia.
Status: Project completed.
Brief:
Utilising the existing structure of a previously mixed-use building, we were asked to develop the creative concept, interior design, and FF&E for a new modern Mediterranean restaurant.
Outcome:
Developing a unique identity that engages the modern traveller, and a discerning local expat community, in a highly competitive culinary scene was our primary intent with the interior architecture.
Taking design cues from countries that border the Mediterranean Sea, with their natural materials of stone and wood, arched doorways and windows, a focus on indoor-outdoor living; we then combined this with a post-modernist style that is largely rooted in the Italian capital of Milan to create a juxtaposition of coastal and urban design.
Upon launching, Luma received widespread media attention, and has since become one of Bali’s most popular restaurants; averaging 200 covers per night.
