The name Trash the Studio reflects a commitment to editing rather than accumulating — questioning default processes, reducing unnecessary production, and reworking what already exists.

Sustainability, for us, is not a label or an aesthetic. It is a way of thinking about what genuinely needs to be made, how it is made, and what it will become over time.

In practice, this means prioritising non-toxic materials, responsible finishes and considered production methods. We favour natural, durable materials that age well, and work closely with local makers and manufacturers to reduce unnecessary transport and support regional craft.

Our focus is on longevity: creating spaces, objects and systems that are built to endure, adapt and be maintained.

As a multidisciplinary creative professional, Ashlie Dixon began her career leading brand marketing for luxury fashion platform Farfetch. A start-up at the time that rapidly grew into a billion-dollar business; here she was able to carve-out a bold career, launching the brand in 9 countries around the world, building narratives rooted in cultural context.

Following this; Ashlie was head-hunted to direct creative projects and set-up new marketing departments at renowned businesses around the world. This included time at London-based consumer insights agency The Future Laboratory, before making the move to Bali, Indonesia, to consult for eco hospitality group Potato Head, and later acting as Brand & General Manager for a new fashion and homewares business from the Gorrow Group.

Driven by a passion for sustainable and non-toxic design, Ashlie later retrained in furniture and interior design and now consults on residential and commercial projects in the UK, USA, and Asia. Her style blends cultural context and natural materials, with contemporary and vintage aesthetics to create spaces and objects that are both timeless and environmentally responsible
