Trash the Studio is a multidisciplinary creative practice working across identity, environment and execution.
We shape cohesive design directions — aligning brand, space and production as one continuous idea.
Work may be led end-to-end or approached in parts. In every case, the focus is on creating physical and digital environments that are considered, honest and built to last — grounded in material integrity, non-toxic specification and long-term impact, with sustainability considered at every stage from concept through to delivery.
Our work sits at the point where ideas become real.
We operate as creative leads, setting direction early and carrying it through each stage of a project — from strategy and design to making and sourcing.
Every project is different, but our approach is consistent.
Context
We begin by understanding context — the people involved, the place, the brief and the constraints. From here, we establish a clear design direction that can hold across both physical and digital environments.
Culture
Ideas are developed through cultural research, spatial studies, material exploration and design testing. This may include interior architecture, furniture and object concepts, visual language, websites or content systems — always with a focus on clarity, use and longevity.
Completion
Where required, we remain closely involved through making and delivery, working with a trusted network of artisans, fabricators and specialist partners to ensure quality, responsibility and intent are carried through to completion.
-
Brand and creative direction for new ideas, launches and repositioning.
This can include positioning, narrative, naming and tone; visual direction and references; and the foundations that keep everything coherent once the work moves into space and digital.
Often delivered as: a brand guidelines doc, including visual and language direction, to guide future design, content and build.
-
Architecture and interiors, shaped around cultural context, atmosphere and use.
We work across early spatial concepts and interior architecture modelling, through to detailed technical drawings, bespoke FF&E, material selection and installation — collaborating closely with architects, consultants and fabricators.
Often delivered as: design concepts and colour palettes, 3D models and renderings, construction plans and layouts, material sampling and schedules, and all key design details ready for implementation.
-
Websites, content and communication that carry the same direction as the physical work.
We shape digital presence as an extension of identity and environment — setting the creative direction for websites, content systems and key messages. Depending on scope, we either collaborate with your existing web and marketing teams or bring in trusted partners.
Often delivered as: site structure and page map, visual direction, content frameworks including social media plans and launch-ready assets.
-
Furniture, objects and product design — bespoke or editioned.
Where the project calls for it, we design pieces that belong to the wider concept rather than feeling applied. Work can range from one-off commissions to product development support.
Often delivered as: design concepts, drawings and dimensioned specs, prototyping support and maker coordination.
-
Sourcing, making and delivery — keeping intent intact as work moves off the page.
We support procurement and production for both digital and physical objects, coordinating with makers and suppliers to manage quality. For spatial projects, this can include everything from sampling through to installation oversight and final styling support. And for digital environments, this often involves organising film and photography shoots to produce content and assets for communication.
Often delivered as: a production plan including estimated budgets and timelines, supplier coordination and tendering, sampling, QC and delivery/installation support.
